ABOUT US
An agency that started in a one bedroom apartment in 2012, without any connections or experience, managed to grow and represent players in golf, baseball, football and basketball, while also venturing into the music industry. Starting with humbling beginnings while in law school, Charlie Bateh, Founder/CEO/Agent, has grown the agency to represent players in multiple sports while partnering with other certified agents to ensure clients receive the best representation.
Vertical Sports Agency’s first big signing was with a client who signed by his boyhood favorite team, the San Francisco Giants. A pitcher born and raised in the Bay Area was able to get Robert Ramer signed after being undrafted and was among the elite pitchers in the Independent League. Charlie says, "It’s moments like this that makes the profession worth while, because Vertical is proud to help bring the athlete’s goals to life.”
With Vertical, athletes will be prepared in all phases — starting at their first opportunity to make a big impression, to life well after they have retired in their sport and starting a new career — Vertical will always be there with and for you.
WHY CHARLIE
As an athlete in all major sports and competing at the Olympic level in Tae Kwon Do, Charlie understands the discipline, mindset and responsibilities required to be great. With Charlie’s representation, clients will have an agent that will be an advocate for their best interests, whether they are playing or not, while also working with other certified agents to ensure the client’s goals are met. Having the experience in representing athletes in baseball, football, basketball and golf, as well as musicians, the diverse background has proven to be an asset for clients.
GIVING BACK
The devotion to give back to the community stems from a brain tumor scare Charlie had after suffering from a seizure attack. It was that experience which brought perspective to what’s important in life… health. “The ability to give and not expect anything in return, except for a smile on the other person’s face is the best reward,” says Charlie. All clients represented by Vertical Sports Agency are required to give back to the community; using our platform to help serve is a privilege to support a cause that is much larger than any one individual— irrespective of the cause.
